Effortless by Hanelli

I really enjoyed the photos Hanelli took post Valentino couture.  This picture stood out the most.

Amazing blouse + blazer + shorts combo. I love the purple box print.  Each item looks comfortable and chic at the same time.

Great look for pre-fall as the weather cools off. Probably best at 58F-65F.

Featured Versace – I Like

August 5th, 2010 by tforia

Rather than the traditional Versace monochrome mini dress, a more modern, fresh Versace look was placed in the Fall/Winter print ads.

The collection also features a wide array of very Versace flowy gowns, but I really like how they went a different direction with the sculpted and sliced dresses featured in the ads.  The mini skirt length is still very Versace, but the sliced up patterns make this the freshest looking Versace collection in a long time.

The cloth looks a bit shiny from the pictures – a bit of 80′s geometric polyester.

Madame Grès Modern

July 31st, 2010 by tforia

It’s hard to believe Madame Grès designs were made so long ago.  Below is a pre-1950′s dress that looks comfortable and beautiful.  The exaggerated pleating is made by sewing elastic onto the inside of the dress.  The simple draping and pleating make the dress seem so simple and modern.  Now on view at the Met Costume Institute exhibit, American Woman:  Fashioning a National Identity.

Favorite Chanel Couture 2010

July 8th, 2010 by tforia

I loved most pieces from yesterday’s Chanel’s 2010 Couture collection. Here are my favorites (photos from Style.com):

Comfy business attire

How can I get this dress made for me?  I love how it looks like they took an oversized dress with big shoulders fitted to this model.

I love black crepe/black translucent.

Zig zags in some of my favorite shades.

Half sleeve, but shoulderless.

Boots and jewelry, all so fantastic!

Moschino Money: Love is Free

May 29th, 2010 by tforia

Moschino’s window features a mannequin taking money out of an ATM.

tforia.com

The screen says “Love is Free” and there is a ton of Moschino paper money on the ground that proclaim the same.

Neat window. Possibly commenting on the global economy?

Love may be free, but Moschino certainly isn’t. I can’t believe they designed and printed fake money (on both sides!) for this display.

Villaness Action Figures

Vegas Barbie
Hannelore as a Vegas girl. Ribbons of pink and a waterfall of tulle and flowers on her Marchesa dress. Hat by Philip Treacy.

Liza Minelli Barbie
Abbey as Liza Minelli in a bright Valentino Red dress and Carolina Amato gloves. She rises above the zombie like Catherine and Anja, wearing Giorgio Armani.

Retro Barbies + Starlet
Hannelore wears an Oscar de la Renta dress that seems to be made from an old 70′s couch. Catherine in Marilyn Monroe colors. Ralph Lauren Collection white dress.
Anja hangs out in the dining room in Jean-Paul Gaultier pjs.

Weird ending…
Hannelore in a Paul & Joe polka dot red dress topped with a Zac Posen for Pologeorgis coat. She holds the rope that’s tightly wound around Anja.
Abbey wears a green Lanvin dress with silver Galliano shoes. X-mas scene.

Leashed up, Screaming Ghost Barbie
Anja screams as she suffocates in a white L’Wren Scott cape. Catherine, in a gold Prada dress and gold Prada shoes, covers her ears. Merry X-mas.
