Chanel Videos Galore
Sunday, May 16th, 2010Amazing! Chanel content!
Karl Lagerfeld directs several short films featuring models in Chanel.
Remember Now - a glimpse into the capricious fantasy lifestyle of long legged models who wear Chanel all the time – a bit unsavory. A model in her twenties cozies up to a much older man. Really captures the uneasy feeling that comes with partying with extremely image conscious folks.
They’re all working so hard to look like they’re having the most amazing time. There’s a scene that takes place on the morning after the models hit the club. Everyone is lounging on couches in Pamela’s Villa. Then, out of nowhere, someone says, “let’s dance!” and everyone gets up and switches from lounging and looking tired to being extremely hyper and performing coordinated dance moves–suddenly, they collapse back down again to sleep. I felt their pain for a second. It sucks to have to look so pretty and carefree all the time.
Heidi Mount plays Pamela, who has a party at her “villa”.
Leigh Lazark DJs at the club.
Lagerfeld resurrects St. Tropez’s past through younger emulations of Mick Jagger (Freja Beha Erichsen), Bridget Bardot (Magdalena Frackowiak), and Jane Birkin (Abbey Lee Kershaw).
Vol De Jour – similar flavors, capricious models who blatantly shop lift at several Chanel stores including the one on Rue Cambon
“Paris-Shanghai: A Fantasy” – The Trip That Coco Chanel Only Made In Her Dreams – A tad bit uncomfortable to watch. Felt the issue of being Politically Correct emerge. Perhaps it’s because it was a bit too politically correct? It’s strange. Also, the Coco in this movie seems a bit insecure and nasty. There are great scenes from her actual apartment.
Despite the uneasy story lines, the dresses, jackets, accessories were all impeccable.
Loved the thermal camera at the fall/winter 2010 show.
The Vanessa Paradis interview was exciting to watch as well.
