Giovanna Battaglia in Zebra Print

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

Tommy Ton captures Giovanna at the Tuileries…upon first sight, very cougar-esque in her zebra print and hair up.

Closer look at her accessories: earrings, thick hemp rope-like belt and necklace, bulky beaded bracelets, a ring that goes around 2 fingers –all mixed designs and styles.

Voguettes have a way of wearing what they feel like (and everything they feel like wearing all at the same time!) and still look very put together.

Although this look is more cohesive, the black shoes are strikingly dramatic when paired with the cream dress:

Wish I had as much access to fashion as Giovanna.

Extra Long Sleeves

Not sure who this is – featured on Tommy Ton’s JAKANDJIL – photographed after Celine fall/winter 2010.

Long sleeves under a regular length sleeve. Provides warmth and the look of layering.

Effortless by Hanelli

I really enjoyed the photos Hanelli took post Valentino couture.  This picture stood out the most.

Amazing blouse + blazer + shorts combo. I love the purple box print.  Each item looks comfortable and chic at the same time.

Great look for pre-fall as the weather cools off. Probably best at 58F-65F.

My Favorite Tommy Tom photo from Paris FW

It looks like she’s walking through the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris. I love the socks.

As magical as it looks, I don’t imagine it’s practical. If I ever owned a white coat, it would be stained and I don’t think I’d enjoy walking through the park in those heels.

Tavi

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

I’m a fan of Tavi.

featured in Paris Vogue February 2010

Other than the fact she’s from Oak Park (a suburb of Chicago I’m familiar with…) Tavi puts together non traditional looks that are quite quirky and she truly LOVES fashion. I’m not so impressed by her age–I felt like I had the capacity to think like an adult at that age.

I find too many “fashion people” who are more obsessed with themselves than fashion. They care how they look! Much more than they appreciate the beauty and construction of the clothing and much more than the work that goes behind fashion photography and everything that makes the fashion world so fashiony.

It’s incredibly refreshing to see other bloggers try quirky silhouettes that look funky and neat. Really the heart of what fashion is.

Ivan Grundahl on Sea of Shoes

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

Jane, seaofshoes.com, posted a beautiful leather pleated Ivan Grundahl skirt:

I like it a lot because it’s asymmetrical and light. Most leather skirts are stiff and tight.

Sartorial Replacement

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

I love Tommy Ton’s photo slides on Style.com! I will not miss the Sartorialist–there seems to be more candid photos with Tommy Ton. Candid but totally glamorous. Fashion editors across the world still look incredibly amazing especially when they are not posing! Here are my favorites from Tommy Ton’s debut album:

My favorite look. Relaxed whites under a tailored black blazer. Nude sandals. Too bad I look poufy in pleated voluminous pants. My hips will ruin this outfit.

Love this look as well. Too bad my thighs would make the shorts look inappropriate. But it looks so clean, fresh, relaxed and easy…

The following photo looks like a fashion spread. Beige is such a nice soothing color. It’s earthy and not nearly as powerful as white. Take a look at the belt!

More beige! Beige underneath a white (slight hint of blue) dress.

Shoulders so space age. The future of women’s suits (I hope!).

Jacket in leather…

So, I guess I really love blazers and blouses and dressing in white, black or beige. Neutral colors are so much more soothing to the eye. For more Tommy Ton, visit jakandjil.com.

Sea of Shoes is a great fashion blog that focuses on designer shoes. The author is a young lady from Austin and the photos are amazing. The outfits and clothes she features with the shoes are quite unique and delightful.

Since April 2007.
